Aw, maybe I'll go ahead and do it anyway just to give whoever might be interested a shot at seeing it. As far as "Octaman" goes, the quality ain't that good to begin with. I'd been looking for a "legit" copy for some years now and finally found one on Amazon a few weeks ago. When I got it and played it I found that it was sourced from an inferior vhs master and there was a point where the picture went blank a little more than half way through. Oh well, that's how it goes.

Hope you posted a scathing review of the "product" at Amazon.

It was an "out-of-print" copy of a dvd from The Congress Video Group, a company that as far as I know has been out of business for quite some time. It's still better than the second generation copy I had on vhs, but not by much. I think I'll run it through my pc to edit out the period of black screen and see how it comes out. You run into this frequently when you're hunting down hard to find films. I can remember ordering from more than one "backpage" video outlet and when I got my product and played it, the movies had commercials in them! On others the quality was so bad that the movie was barely watchable. On the other hand a lot of it was pretty decent. "Creature Of Destruction" is one example of a decent copy from one outfit. I ordered it from a copy of Filmfax.

I remember seeing OCTAMAN on TV back in the 70s or 80s...it's got a pretty funny looking monster suit. Other than that, I don't remember a blessed thing about it!

The monster in that flick was created by Rick Baker, an early effort. His credits include SCHLOCK, KENTUCKY FRIED MOVIE, IT'S ALIVE (not the Larry Buchanan movie),THE THING WITH TWO HEADS, all the critters in the STAR WARS bar scene, KING KONG (1976), Tim Burton's PLANET OF THE APES, and the soon-to-be-released remake of THE WOLF MAN, just to name a few. This guy's been around a long time.
